Hello, we are Mark and Jana!
This moment was captured at our 2019 Colorado wedding, amidst the breathtaking splendor of the Rocky Mountains.
Hello & Welcome!
We love children and have both dreamed about raising children from young ages. Since we met, we talked about raising a family and even adopting because adoption has always been a natural part of our lives — as a baby, Mark was adopted by his stepdad Andrew.

We have so much love to give and can’t wait to share our own life’s adventures and create new adventures — from bedtime stories to first days of school, from muddy boots after a nature walk to dance recitals and soccer games throughout college and adulthood. We both cannot wait to be very present and hands-on parents.

We have been lucky enough to build a successful and exciting life together. We own a global fashion advertising company that produces TV commercials and major ad campaigns for the world’s biggest beauty and luxury brands, often working with celebrities, influencers, and models.

Because we are our own bosses and work from home, we have total control over our time; we won't be rushing off to an office but will be stay-at-home parents for every single moment of a child's life.

Your child will grow up in our beautiful country oasis — a home on over 50 acres of secure woodland with three private ponds and a heated swimming pool. It is a place of absolute comfort and freedom, where a child can truly have the best of everything.

About Each Other
About Jana (by Mark): Jana has the most caring heart. She’s warm, thoughtful, and always the first to offer help to someone in need. Kids are drawn to her because she really listens and makes them feel seen. She brings creativity and fun into everything, and I can’t wait to see her as a mom.

About Mark (by Jana): Mark has a calm, steady energy that makes everyone feel safe and cared for. He’s hardworking, funny, and endlessly patient. He always shows up — whether it’s helping a neighbor, teaching a niece to fish, or making me laugh after a long day. I know without a doubt he’ll be an incredible father.

Our hope is that through these pages, you’ll see the adventures, the warmth, the happiness, and the unconditional love that fills our lives — and our dream to share all of that with your child.

What’s Important to Us
Kindness, respect, and joy guide us. We value honesty, curiosity, and open communication. We want to raise a child who feels deeply loved by us, so he or she can be confident in who they are.

This was taken right after Mark finished the NYC Marathon — celebrating with our friends Franco, Jeff, Helena, and little Carmen, who all came out to cheer him on.
We’ll encourage creativity, education, and compassion — helping him or her grow into someone who feels safe exploring the world and following their dreams. Our home will always be filled with warmth, laughter, and opportunities — a place where a child feels supported and celebrated every single day.

Life Before We Became “We”
Before our paths crossed, we both lived full, adventurous lives — but we always felt that something was missing.
We both grew up in Europe — Jana in Slovakia, in a creative household filled with art, music, and Sunday family dinners, and Mark in the English countryside, where life revolved around family, nature, and helping neighbors.

Mark visiting his family in Scotland and taking a stroll along the sea in his mom’s backyard — classic Scottish views including cows.
We each moved to the U.S. separately. Jana came as a little 12-year-old girl, and Mark moved when he was older (about twenty years ago) after living in different countries in Europe. We were both chasing new adventures and opportunities — and somewhere along the way, we found each other.

Jana, about 12 yrs old with her parents and siblings visiting the Statue of Liberty for the first time in the US.

Mark with his parents and siblings when he was about 8 years old living in the North of England.
We first met one another in 2015 at work in New York City, when we were both working for a major production company.
Jana was planning to leave her job, and Mark was hired to replace her, and when we did meet, it felt instantly comfortable — like we’d just arrived home.
Friendship turned into love, and we discovered that we share the same humor, curiosity, and belief that family is life’s best adventure.

Our trip to Arizona celebrating Mark’s birthday and visiting the Horseshoe Bend, it was a hot day but worth the hike.
We celebrated our love with a beautiful wedding in the snowy, peaceful mountains of Colorado. Surrounded by the quiet beauty of nature and the crisp mountain air, it was a day that felt truly magical and a time we will hold in our hearts forever. That special day, high up in the peaks, was the start of our favorite adventure — one that we are so ready to continue as we grow our family.

We’ve been fortunate to build an amazing life here in New York while still staying close to our roots. We travel back to Europe every year to visit family and friends — splitting time between Slovakia, Scotland and England — and we also love spending time in Spain, Italy, France, and Sweden. We try to keep up with all the beauty and culture that Europe has to offer, keeping those connections alive through shared meals, long walks, and of course endless cups of tea!

Our Life Together
Our daily life is a mix of work and a peaceful home, (plus a noticeable amount of fur from our cute little doggies, who are wonderful with children!).
We have been fortunate to build a successful company. On any given day, we might be working with celebrities, influencers, and models for ads you see in Times Square or on billboards in Los Angeles. Running our own company allows us to be creative, meet wonderful people from all walks of life, and gives us the flexibility to focus on what matters most — raising a family together.

Because we own our business and work from home, we have total control over our schedule and will both be very present, stay-at-home parents.

Our sitting room and dining room, where we enjoy morning coffee and end our nights having dinner and enjoying the fireplace.

Our kitchen is the heart of the home — usually filled with family, friends, good food, and everyone lingering around the island making memories and sneaking a few treats before dinner is ready.
We have designed our home to be a private retreat where a child has space to play and feel secure.

We use our ATVs to explore the trails and spend time kayaking or fishing in our private ponds. We also enjoy night swimming in the heated pool on warm summer evenings and in the hot tub once the weather turns cold.

While we love the privacy of our country home, and we also keep an apartment in the city for when we want to experience the energy of New York.
Our home is always open to friends and family. We love being the house where neighbors bring their grandchildren over to ride the pedal boat or join us for a BBQ.

Our friend’s daughter, Bella and Jana.

Our friends Shakira and TJ, along with their kids, Greyson and Austin, love spending summer days swimming, splashing, and making memories in the pond.

We love children so much that we’re the couple who’s always down on the floor building Lego castles, dressing up dolls, chasing bubbles across the lawn, or helping a little one decorate cupcakes.
Jana often helps our nieces and nephews, Abby, Mia, and Rich with art projects and baking while Mark teaches them how to fish on the pond, make smores at the campfire or lets them help wash the firetruck at community open houses. It is a comfortable, high-energy life, and we are ready to share every bit of it with a child.

Mark giving our niece Mia — Pete and Justine’s daughter — a fun wheelbarrow ride around the backyard while Jana’s parents’ two dogs happily tagged along for the adventure.
Outside of work, we’re very involved in our local community. Mark is a volunteer firefighter and EMT, and Jana helps with community events organized by the department. It’s a great way to stay connected and give back.
We love being active and living a healthy lifestyle. We work out regularly, take long walks with our dogs, and spend plenty of time outdoors.

Another favorite picture from our wedding day in Colorado in 2019, being adventurous and walking through the beautiful forest.
In the winter, we have a LOT of snow, which means even more fun things to do with all our family and friends and neighbors’ kids. We go snow tubing at the local ski resort, building the world’s biggest snowmen in the front yard and of course, healthy snowball competitions.
Whether it’s reading bedtime stories to our nieces and nephews, helping at their school fairs, or mentoring teens through the fire department’s junior program, we always seem to find ourselves surrounded by kids, and we love every minute of it!

Our niece Mia — trying to push Mark down our driveway while Carrie, our small dog, is waiting for a turn.
Weekends usually include a long walk on nearby trails with our two sweet and gentle dogs, Buddy Boo Boo and Carrie Bradshaw. Buddy is a 2-year-old Australian Cattle and Great Pyrenees mix who adores children and babies.
Buddy is a gentle giant who wags his tail gently and leans in for sweet cuddles around little ones. Carrie, our 12-year-old long-haired Chihuahua, is the tiny queen of the house — confident, funny, and full of personality. She loves to lead Buddy around, and he happily lets her.

Our Family and Friends Are Very Family and Child Oriented
We are blessed with an amazing support system. Our immediate family live close enough for weekend visits and holidays, and they cannot wait to welcome a new little one into the family.

We both come from big families and Mark is one of 7 children. Jana’s parents, Paul and Bozena, along with her siblings Pete, Tina, and Sue, and their children — Abby, Mia, and baby Richie live close-by and visit often.
Mark’s parents, Julie and Roger, and his siblings Simon, Naomi, and Joseph, live in Scotland with our nieces and nephews — Caitlyn, Ethan, Lewis, Junior, and Mel.

Mark’s British parents, Julie and Roger, meeting Jana’s Slovak parents, Bozena and Pavol, for the very first time before our wedding in 2019
We see them all several times a year, either at big family gatherings in Scotland or when they visit us in the U.S. usually during summer and winter holidays. Everyone is hands-on, fun, and endlessly loving.
Along with our family, we have many close friends — here and in Europe — who are like aunties and uncles to us. Family gatherings are filled with warmth, music, food, and laughter — the kind of moments that turn into lasting memories.

Holidays and Traditions
We love traditions — big and small — and we truly enjoy sharing them with family and friends. At Christmas, we decorate the tree, sip hot cocoa, and bake cookies for neighbors.
We alternate Thanksgiving between our parents’ homes and ours. When it’s our turn, the whole family comes a few days early and stays over, turning it into a week-long celebration.

Decorating our Christmas tree is our favorite part of Christmas in our house along with figuring out where our snow globes and Santa decorations go around the house.
We prepare the turkey from our neighbor’s dairy farm and make sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie, and some of Jana’s family favorites from Slovakia — goulash, a cabbage and mushroom soup with kielbasa, and homemade pierogis. Mark’s contribution is often his British classic: fish and chips!
Everyone helps with prep, and there’s plenty of friendly competition for best chef bragging rights. It always ends in laughter, full bellies, and a few loosened belts.

At Easter, we head to Jana’s family home, where the kids decorate eggs and join the neighborhood scavenger hunt. It usually starts right after breakfast, and we have an egg and spoon race competition which Mark used to do at school in England.

Our niece, Mia at our house coloring eggs for Easter right before we have our easter egg races.
Halloween might be our favorite holiday. We carve pumpkins, dress up, and hand out candy to every superhero and dinosaur who drives up. We mark the driveway with a glowing jack-o’-lantern to show we’re ready for visitors with lots of treats!

We love to decorate our driveway with Halloween Balloons.
We often spend Christmas holidays in Europe, visiting Mark’s family in the U.K. or Jana’s extended family in Slovakia. If we’re lucky, we’ll sneak in a ski trip with friends in France.
